FREQUENTLEY ASKED QUESTIONS

Modern Wedding

How much does a Delia Studios wedding film cost?

In case you missed it, we do have our prices publicly listed on our website here. We are very transparent in everything we do, and that includes letting you know exactly how much we charge for our services. Please keep in mind that there is a travel fee for any wedding location that is more than 60 miles from our office. Contact us for more information.

How do we book Delia Studios for our wedding?

The first step in our process is for you to fill out our contact form. This will give us some information about your wedding including your wedding date. After we confirm that we are available, we will schedule a phone call to introduce ourselves, and get to know a little more about you and your wedding. This is a great time for you to ask us a bunch of questions and tell us all about your big day.  We will briefly talk about our process and ask questions about your wedding and what is most important to you and your fiance when it comes to video. We want to make sure that we can meet your expectations and that we are a great fit for each other. After our phone meeting, we usually send our couples a quote with everything we discussed on the phone. Sometimes at this point the couple feels confident enough to book with us online.  They can make a deposit online, or mail in a check.

Wedding Embrace

We have a lot of things going on during our big day, how do you keep track of them all?

Once you have booked with us we will send you over our wedding worksheet. This worksheet is very similar to something your wedding planner would have you fill out.  It covers everything from your prep until your cake cutting. It goes into great detail about every location, the times we are arriving and departing, and alot of other important information we need to know. However, don’t panic! We will walk you through this step by step.

Do you offer photography services?

We strictly offer videography services, however, we encourage you to check out some of our really talented photographer friends on our vendor recommendation page! We also enjoy meeting and working with new photographers as well, so don’t feel discouraged if we haven’t worked with your photographer yet. Meeting and networking with other talented professionals is one of our strong points.

How is music chosen for our films?

With our current packages, every couple receives a short film, and a longer edit of all of the day’s main formalities (ceremony, introductions, first dance, parent dances, toasts). The highlight video is usually the film that is shared online, so therefore we have to license the music for it. What this means is that we have to purchase the rights to this music to be able to show it publicly. We purchase all of our licenses from www.themusicbed.com - The longer film remains private, so for that film we keep the original music that was playing during the filming (ie. your first dance song).

How long after our wedding day can we expect our video?

Our turnaround time is usually between 3 and 6 months, however, we usually deliver the video proofs to our couples before that timeframe.

We see your logo on videos online, will that be on our final video?

No.  We add this watermark to our videos because we've had instances in the past where our videos where illegally downloaded by other companies and re-posted as if it was their work. Therefore, we put our logo on the bottom right hand side of every video we show publicly. After you approve your wedding video, we will remove the watermark, and author your final film, logo free.

Romantic Proposal

Can you send us our raw footage before you send us our edited films?

Raw footage will be mailed to you at the time of completion.  There are a couple of reasons we do not send raw footage before your project is finished.  The main reason is that it will totally spoil the surprise of seeing your final polished, edited, and colored wedding film.  Raw footage is exactly that, raw.  It is uncolored, unmixed, and it shows our cameras while they are focusing, shaking, adjusting, and people are usually talking in the background, etc.  This can make a bad impression before we even have a chance to create our magic during the editing process.  The other reason is when couples receive their raw footage ahead of time, they can start to try and build their own movie in their mind, which tends to lead to unnecessary requests and revisions, which can lead to additional editing fees.  We like to think that the couples that hire us have taken the time to critically review our work and love what we do.  The editing of our films is an in depth process by professional editors that have mastered the art. For this reason, we do not send out raw files before a project has been finished.

Do you visit our venue with us prior to our wedding day?

Thanks to the digital age, we actually do not need to visit your venue prior to the wedding day.  We can usually just Google the location if we have not already shot at it, and see lots of photos and videos.  The other reason we don’t typically do walkthroughs is because the weather and lighting can be completely different on your wedding day then the day we visit. So we usually like to size up the location the day of the wedding before we start shooting.

Bridal Party

Can we give you a shot list to work off the day of our wedding?

We usually do not work off of any sort of lists the day of your wedding. It would actually have the opposite effect you think it would have. Instead of helping us, it would actually be slowing us down. We have set detail shots that we usually grab during every wedding, but at the same time we have to be very aware of everything that is going on around us. We have to be ready to veer off our usual filming course if we see something important happening around us that we cannot stage or redo later on.

I have questions that are not on this list, who can I call?

We would be more then happy to answer any questions you may have. First we advise you fill out our contact form if you haven’t already, and then we can schedule a call.  Looking forward to speaking with you!
